About this program
The berufsintegrierende Bachelorstudiengang Angewandte Pflegewissenschaft qualifies students for scientifically based care of people in need of care in highly complex care situations. Students acquire the ability to work together interprofessionally and to actively shape the further development of nursing. A central goal of the study program is to enable students to make nursing decisions based on current scientific findings, clinical expertise, and the wishes and needs of patients, and to reconcile these aspects. Special emphasis is placed on further developing analytical, reflective, and problem-solving skills, as well as on the confident application of current nursing science research findings. Students learn to critically evaluate scientific findings, communicate them understandably, and successfully transfer them into nursing practice. Furthermore, they are prepared to integrate innovative technologies into nursing and to actively accompany and shape change processes. With the study of Applied Nursing Science, students also acquire the qualification to take on medical-related tasks in clearly defined and legally secured fields of action. The program aims to provide the scientific basis for professional nursing practice at the highest level, focusing on evidence-based nursing, training and counseling, theory-practice-theory transfer, professional nursing practice, and extended medical-related activities in focus areas such as diabetic metabolic conditions, chronic wounds, and dementia. Graduates can pursue careers as nursing experts for complex settings or as nursing experts with training and guidance responsibilities.
