The Diplom program in Textile Design is an independent and demanding artistic-design study program, divided into a basic and main study period, including an internship and diploma thesis. The offered (interdisciplinary) formats range from design projects with thematic focuses on material, technique, or context, to project-accompanying seminars with structural content, acquiring textile construction and finishing techniques, courses for specific software, workshops for special techniques and tools, discussion rounds, joint practice sessions, and cooperation projects with industry and research institutes, up to exhibitions, publications, and symposia that are conceived and realized together. Graduates of the program are highly qualified designers who possess excellent (textile) technical, artistic, and conceptual proficiency, as well as independent design positions and aesthetic forms of expression. The creative field of work for textile designers opens up across the areas of fashion and apparel, interior and interior architecture, object materiality, and mobility (Colour & Trim). Career opportunities range from founding one's own design studio to exciting employment in a textile research institute, a medium-sized textile company, or a large corporation. The professional prospects are therefore very diverse.
