Bu program hakkında
The Master's program in Opera prepares students for the profession of opera singer. Students learn at a technically and artistically advanced level to meet the diverse demands of vocal-musical and scenic performance of an opera role. Special emphasis is placed on the comprehensive development of the student's own personality as a singer. The Master's program enables students to develop all potentials and colors of their own voice in an intensively supervised environment according to their personal development stage. The focus of the training is the development of scenic-musical presence on stage. Students learn to implement artistic intentions on stage in a way that vocal technique, musical interpretation, and acting are combined into a credible stage character. In addition to the core modules of singing, role study, and scenic-musical performance, other components of the study include speech training, stage training, and elective offerings from the interdisciplinary range of the university. In a constantly evolving theater landscape, singers must be able to engage with new concepts and performance styles. Students are prepared for this not least through active integration with the adjacent degree programs in Directing Opera, Directing Theater, Acting, and Dramaturgy. Furthermore, the Theater Academy Hamburg, not least through its involvement in the EOA, has various national and international connections that serve to network students. Many of its professors and lecturers are internationally successful artists who can facilitate students' contact with the active opera career. In addition to very intensive supervision in individual and ensemble lessons, students are offered a clearly structured training program. This is based on the following four cornerstones that structure the academic year: At the beginning of each year, the Lucia-Thörl-Masterclass takes place exclusively for Master's Opera students, focusing on both music and theater. In recent years, Ks. Prof. Christiane Iven and Ks. Helene Schneidermann have been guests as course leaders. In preparation for competition concerts, an opera gala with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra takes place every December, where students can perform ensembles and arias concertantly with orchestra. At the end of the winter semester, there is regularly a smaller opera production, the so-called opera concisa. Here, individual scenes from opera literature are presented in a project format that is redefined each time. At the end of the academic year, at the end of the summer semester, a full-scale production by the opera class takes place on the university's main stage at a professional level. The scenic and musical direction is carried out by the university's professors, and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra performs. (Link to webcast coming soon). In recent years, productions have included Dido and Aeneas, Riders to the Sea, The Merry Widow, The Magic Flute, Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. In June and July 2018, Handel's Alcina was on the program.
