The postgraduate program Master of Arts in Social Work as a Human Rights Profession (MA-SWHR) at the Alice Salomon Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences - in Berlin, Germany. The program is realized in cooperation with Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg, Linnaeus University, University of Ljubljana, and University of Strathclyde. The cooperation consists of lecturers from the universities mentioned above teaching in the program, as well as lecturers based in Norway, Greece, Brazil, the UK, and various German universities. The program emphasizes the importance of human rights as a powerful instrument in social work in a globalized world. It aims to provide students with a general professional self-conception, a science-based theory of action and intervention, and a solid understanding of the profession's code of ethics in relation to social work. The course of study is of interest to individuals professionally active or with an academic interest in social work or human rights, particularly when working with vulnerable groups or addressing issues like poverty, social exclusion, or discrimination. The program offers a hybrid learning experience combining classroom teaching with e-learning, with a strong focus on research. It requires a full-time commitment and students' presence in Berlin for the first three semesters.
