Jazz-Musiktheorie

Bu program hakkında

The Jazz Theory study program provides practical and competent theoretical foundations to support your artistic-pedagogical development as a jazz musician with technically sound knowledge. You will learn a broad range of analytical tools to understand, apply, and aurally recognize different harmonic structures and relationships. A deeper understanding of functional harmony, scale and chord theory, and the interplay of tension and relaxation in music will enhance the quality of your global musical work, both improvisational and compositional. You will be enabled to listen at an advanced level and can recognize and apply complex rhythms. Furthermore, you will learn various arranging techniques, as well as the range and transposition of instruments relevant in jazz, and can independently create arrangements from lead sheet templates or your own compositions. You will also gain a detailed overview of the history of jazz, be able to place epochs and protagonists in a historical context, and acquire fundamental techniques in musicological work. In various elective subjects, you can then tailor and deepen your skills and knowledge. Thus, you will be practically and optimally prepared for the diverse development opportunities of improvising musicians today, even in theory.
