The Bachelor of Music program in Elemental Music Pedagogy Jazz/Crossover aims to prepare students for a broad range of activities in musical education and music mediation. It focuses on developing both high-level artistic skills and excellent pedagogical qualifications. The program emphasizes the individual's abilities and skills, exploring the goals, content, and methods of elemental music-making, experimentation, and creation with diverse age and ability groups. It integrates musical and personality-developmental objectives, focusing on fundamental musical phenomena through experimentation, improvisation, creation, and reproduction using various media like voice, language, movement, and instruments. The approach balances 'performing' (technical, reproductive) and 'creative' (inventive, productive) activities. Students acquire foundational and specialized didactic and practical teaching knowledge in a comprehensive music pedagogy curriculum, gaining direct insights into professional practice through internships. The program ensures optimal professional qualification and employability by requiring students to demonstrate developmental potential for pedagogical activity during the aptitude assessment. They build a comprehensive and stylistically versatile repertoire in their secondary subject, complement their skills in a chosen minor subject, and develop professional, interactive, and communicative abilities in university ensembles. Knowledge acquired in music theory and science modules enables informed collaboration with other musicians and critical reflection on musical expression. Specific practical subjects like percussion, dance, and voice provide a solid instrumental and vocal technique foundation for elemental music-making and dancing with large groups. The Bachelor's thesis involves independent research on a subject-specific topic using scientific methods. Graduates will be equipped for independent theoretical and practical engagement with music, language, and movement, competent in inclusive group work, capable of enriching cultural and social life, and able to flexibly apply their artistic-pedagogical and improvisational skills in multiple musical-stylistic areas.
