Über diesen Studiengang

The innovative Masters programme Energy Management imparts in-depth, professionally qualifying knowledge beyond the basic curriculum that is required to cope with the challenges of today's and tomorrow's energy supply. Graduates possess a broad, detailed, and critical understanding of the field of energy management based on the latest state of the art, which builds upon and significantly deepens or expands upon the knowledge acquired at the bachelor’s level. They are able to define and interpret the specific characteristics, limitations, terminology, and schools of thought in energy management, and to use their knowledge as a foundation for developing and applying independent, application- or research-oriented ideas. They can apply their knowledge, understanding, and problem-solving skills even in new, unfamiliar, and multidisciplinary situations that extend beyond their actual field of study, and make scientifically sound decisions based on incomplete or limited information, taking into account social, scientific, and ethical considerations. Graduates are able to independently acquire new knowledge and skills and to carry out independent research- or application-oriented projects largely on their own initiative and autonomously. They can clearly and unambiguously communicate their conclusions, as well as the underlying information and reasoning, to experts and laypeople, and exchange information, ideas, problems, and solutions with them at a scientific level. They are able to assume significant responsibility within a team and take on challenging planning, management, and leadership tasks in companies in the energy-intensive industry and the energy sector. They have demonstrated, through a project and their master’s thesis—primarily in collaboration with research institutions or companies—that they can successfully tackle a challenging task in their field of specialization independently and within a specified timeframe using scientific methods. They have acquired the ability to undertake challenging, interdisciplinary engineering tasks in the field of energy management as a key component of energy supply and efficient energy use.
